Plastic pollution has reached alarming levels, causing profound damage to ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. Addressing the plastic crisis requires concerted efforts from individuals, businesses, governments, and academic institutions to promote innovation, sustainable practices, and widespread adoption of circular economy principles.

Pretty Plastic is a pioneering company dedicated to driving the transition to a circular economy. Their mission is to tackle the global plastic problem by transforming 100% construction waste, post-consumer PVC into unique, safe and timeless cladding tiles. Through innovative technologies and collaborations, they aim to create a sustainable and closed-loop system for plastic materials. We collaborate to navigate through the constantly changing landscape of sustainable and circular certifications, requirements, legislative updates, and more.

“Embrace the beauty of upcycling, one tile at a time – from trash to tile, building(s) from waste.”

Outcome: Performing a life cycle analysis (of the ‘First One’) with Alba Concepts and obtaining a position in the national environmental database with a category 1 product card, supervising interns, and contributing as a process facilitator for the Circular Chain Subsidy (circulaire ketensubsidie) with Pretty Plastic as the lead organization, PVC Netherlands, Tentech, and JPI Polymers BV.
